January read list.

Hola everyone!, i know that it's the middle of February and i am really late with this but i wanted to do it anyway, I've never done a month read list, and i wanted to start doing it from now on. by the way, last year and the year before that i read so many Vampire/Dystopian/sci fi books, that i was not in the mood for them this time, at all, i just wanted to read cute romance books haha, so this blog post has mainly that.

The first book that i read in January was:

Book title: Anna and the French Kiss
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Published: December 2nd 2010

Summary: Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

Review: I loved this book, oh my god  i couldn't put it down, and when i had to i couldn't stop thinking about it, it is so cute and light and omg, makes me want to o back to France, reading this book made me feel like i was back in France haha and after i finished it i started looking for other books like this where they are in France or something, but no luck haha, i recommend this book so much, i love Anna and i Love St. Clair

Book Title: Lola and the boy next door
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Published: September 29th 2011

Summary: Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion...she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit--more sparkly, more fun, more wild--the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket--a gifted inventor--steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Review: i loved this book very much, but not as much as Anna and the french kiss. I loved Lola and her quirky fashion sense and i loved Cricket ( his name is very weird yes, but he is so cute, i love him haha),

Book Title: Catching Jordan
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Published: December 1st 2011

Summary: ONE OF THE BOYS

What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she's ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he's also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan's feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart's on the line?

Review: (btw warning, i might say love a little too much in this review haha)oh dear lord, you have no idea how much i loved this book!, i read it in a day!, when my mom called me down that it was time to eat i didn't want to put it down haha, i was like damn i want to keep reading! haha. I loved Jordan, i loved how she loved football and i loved how she was in a team with all these boys and there was no drama, there was no her having a crush on any of them, she didn't think about them that way, and i loved how they loved her and respected her, i wasn't exactly in love with Ty, i don't know why, he just didn't interest me that much, but i loved Henry, and wow, i didn't predict the ending in this book at all!, i was surprised ( in a good way, in a great way in fact).

Book Title: Stealing Parker
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Published: October 1st 2012

Summary: Parker Shelton pretty much has the perfect life. She’s on her way to becoming valedictorian at Hundred Oaks High, she’s made the all-star softball team, and she has plenty of friends. Then her mother’s scandal rocks their small town and suddenly no one will talk to her.

Now Parker wants a new life.

So she quits softball. Drops twenty pounds. And she figures why kiss one guy when she can kiss three? Or four. Why limit herself to high school boys when the majorly cute new baseball coach seems especially flirty?

But how far is too far before she loses herself completely?

Review: i did really like this book ( not as much as the first one thought, definitely not as much), but it wasn't my favorite, i thought i would love it as much as the first one but i didn't, i did like the characters, also the book was kind of full of religion, which is not my thing, and the first book didn't have any of it so i was surprised. This book also has a different ending than expected at the beginning. The best part about this book was when Jordan and Henry from the first book appeared haha.

Stars: 3.5 out of 5

Book title: Epic Fail
Author: Claire LaZebnik
Published: August 2nd 2011

Summary: At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Cast in point:

- As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school--not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.
- As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn't exactly on everyone's must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.

When Elise's beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince's best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.

Review: it was a very light read, and it was a little fun, but not my favorite book.

And then i read the Perfect Chemistry books which i did a review on here: http://nenaath.blogspot.no/2013/02/reviews-perfect-chemistry-all-three.html

and the last book i read in January was:
Book Title: Guyaholic
Author: Carolyn Mackler
Published: August 14th 2011

Summary:
Sometimes it takes getting hit with a hockey puck to help you see what’s good for you! Carolyn Mackler is back — and V is off on a solo road trip — in this funny, poignant follow-up to VEGAN VIRGIN VALENTINE.

V Valentine is the queen of meaningless hookups. Ever since her mom dumped her with her grandparents, she has bounced from guy to guy. But in the spring of senior year, a fateful hockey puck lands her in the lap of Sam Almond. Right from the start, things with Sam are different. V is terrified to admit it, but this might be meaningful after all. On the afternoon of graduation, V receives some shocking news. Later, at a party, she makes an irreversible mistake and risks losing Sam forever. When her mom invites her to Texas, V embarks on a cross-country road trip with the hopes of putting two thousand miles between herself, Sam, and the wreckage of that night. With her trademark blend of humor and compassion, Carolyn Mackler takes readers on an unforgettable ride of missed exits, misadventures, and the kind of epiphanies that come only when you’re on a route you’ve never taken before.

Review: i liked this book more than i thought i would, i loved V and Sam, i loved how finally the main girl character isn't a virgin girl who hasn't even been kissed ( not that it bothers me that in other books most girls are very innocent, it's just so refreshing and great to find a book who finally has a more experienced main character) and i loved Sam, i thought he was great for V, he was just what she needed, even though she did screw up.

For some reason the ending didn't satisfy me, i wanted more, just a tiny bit more, maybe write a little bit more into the future and show us what happens, it made me a little frustrated haha.

Stars: 4 out of 5

anyway that was my January read list, i hope ya'll have a great week and see you another time! ciao
